How do you do, ladies and gentlemen. This is Chris Mizerak. Welcome to The Film Pub, a new website created to cover and review the latest in the entertainment industry abroad. While film reviews will be the main priority for The Film Pub, it should be known that there will be more than just film reviews.
On top of providing recommendations and warnings on new films and a couple of video games on occasion, The Film Pub will host various Top 10 lists, articles, and other blog pieces on subjects within the entertainment industry (films, TV, video games) and outside.
Like any local brewery, The Film Pub might occasionally or permanently stray from its intended main focus. It may do so in favor of topics such as food, travel or any other subject that provides good material to discuss or share with the site's readers and subscribers. They may be real-life stories, advice on certain social situations, etc.
As long as the articles are written in a way that is civil and respectful to all parties involved, every conceivable subject can be considered fair game for The Film Pub. The entertainment industry is basically someone else's window into a portion of the real world. The main difference is that it's cheaper by a significant amount.
The reviews on The Film Pub will judge its subjects (films, games, etc. ) on a scale ranging from 0 to 10, and in .5 increments. Anything scoring 0 to 5, you're best off avoiding at all costs. Whatever scores between 5.5 to 7, you might want to wait and try at a steep discount. Even then, you might be better off tending to other activities or obligations.
If you see scores from 7.5 to 9, that's a sign that you'll get your money's worth from the product in question. As for anything receiving either a 9.5 or the coveted 10, these are basically essential pieces that you need to try out at least once.
These pieces in question will fall under the Critic's Choice label, which will have its own link and/or page when the time is right. The Film Pub will regularly see physical changes further down the line. Just remember that the way the website starts out is only temporary, as the website will surely evolve over time.
Even if you end up not liking something as much as the site's author does or especially vice versa, just remember that everyone has their own unique opinion. Keeping that in mind, The Film Pub will play its part in helping its readers and subscribers expand their horizons.
After all, these are all just humble words being written down. Let your experience with The Film Pub and the content it provides speak for itself. Who knows? You may just find what you're looking for in unexpected places. Until further notice, this is Chris Mizerak, over and out.
