Introducing Peanut!

Another year into The Film Pub's lifespan, another new pet graces its presence in the owner's humble home. My mom has found a new friend to call her own in the form of Peanut, a corgi and chihuahua hybrid. He was originally named Pickles before my mom adopted him. Pickles felt a little silly for his name, but Peanut feels far more appropriate and still food themed of course. Speaking of which, there needs to be a special name for such a rare breed, like "Chicorgi" for example. It flows smoothly that I think we can make that work fine.

A little more than a week since he's entered our home, Peanut has proven to be a worthy addition to the family. Oreo at first was not happy with his presence. But the two have since respected each other's boundaries so far. Knock on wood. There's still much to study and learn about our little Peanut as we move forward. Peanut is very happy and energetic. Given that he's currently around 7 months old, that should be expected. Though Oreo has made progress on a leash, it's nice to have an additional hiking and walking buddy.

In fact, I already took him on a longer walk by myself to a park we go to all the time. He actually did pretty good. A few quirks need to be worked out of course. Namely walking on the right side of the path as opposed to zigging and zagging to both sides. Peanut definitely loves the attention, so much so that everytime both he and Oreo are in the room, he always beats Oreo in coming to me for petting. This still applies when Oreo is closer to me, by the way. Peanut will surely be spoiled rotten then by a lengthy camping trip the following week.

Nothing about Peanut's presence in the household will stand in the way of my bond with Oreo, despite her internal thoughts to the contrary. Peanut is as sweet as they come though. He cares for everyone in the household, even Oreo after she attacked him a few times initially for territorial purposes. Plenty of time to see how our humble pet family goes from here. But I'm all here for it. Welcome to your new home, Peanut. Here's to more exciting adventures, walks, and hikes with you going forward. Cheers!

P.S. Peanut and Oreo are making huge progress as of today. I'm so proud of how far we've come.
