How do you do, ladies and gentlemen. This is Chris Mizerak here with the final article of 2024 for The Film Pub. Seeing that this site you're on started this past June, there's still much more for this website to prove. But I hope the articles I've provided to you since then have given you a rough idea of what you can expect. And yet, the content from The Film Pub won't be limited to what you see so far. There's always room for a new type of article you didn't know you needed. For example, the articles I did on Funko Pops and a funky American Idol contestant.
I'll admit those articles were each a spur of the moment, but I hope to do more of these in 2025. If The Film Pub is going to have a better future down the line, it starts with articles that I can get some good material out of. In the meantime, I haven't forgotten about my obligation to y'all regarding my favorite TV show and video game lists. That being said, in a recent Facebook post, I've made the difficult decision of postponing both lists into 2025. I announced a new due date for both lists to be out by no later than February 1st.
I intend to honor that promise, even if that means I either don't have enough to say in these articles or I cut down on the number of entries for each list. Rest assured, if the latter happens, you're guaranteed at least 5 TV shows and 25 video games. So look for those lists by February 1st. Outside of that sole deadline, my goal for 2025 with The Film Pub is churning out better content with the articles you'll read. 2024 was an important year for laying down the site's foundation, but 2025 is the year I improve on what I write.
I'll admit right here and now that I noticed how much I'm repeating myself with what I've composed thus far. Sometimes, it's to get the article out sooner rather than later to coincide with my work schedule. Other times, there's nothing else I can think up to say. Everyone has to write how they feel, even if it means being as brief or simplistic as possible. Maybe some reviews in 2025 will be shorter as a result or the reviews themselves will take longer to be released. Either way, my primary goal is to expand and improve my vocabulary.
To better avoid using the same pairing of words or to provide fresher content in the future, I'll focus on honing my writing going forward. The entertainment industry has been in chaos since the start of this current decade with COVID-19. It's for this reason that I'm currently refraining from listing what film, TV, or game reviews you can expect this year. After all, it's uncertain how 2025 and beyond is going to play out with the cards that have been dealt. But I'll do my part in putting out timely reviews for the most relevant releases.
I want to try in making the remaining half of this decade work out. Considering how brutal and nasty things have been since 2020 started though, it's unwise to hold one's breath. I couldn't imagine a worse start to a new decade quite like the 2020's. It's no coincidence that nothing from this decade made my top 50 films list. The two films that came the closest to making the cut were "CODA" and "The Banshees of Inisherin". They would've made it if I was doing a Top 100 list. But plenty of video games from the 2020's will make the cut.
Best to take this intel with a grain of salt. The photos in this article, both at the top and bottom, are actually sneak peaks into the titles you can expect from the TV and game lists out in a month. Even if I'm not posting as many articles on a regular basis, I'm still actively writing. It just might be for a different field, like script writing and/or freelancing my own original material. So once again, a huge thanks to the loyal readers and patrons who are keeping this site going. Let's make 2025 the best it can be. Cheers!
